Faun is lost in a nasty cave full of goblins. He went for a walk this morning and fell down a hole,he could not find a way out although he tried all day...now the goblins look hungry! Poor Faun is so sorry he left his forest today.
Holy cow ! That's a kewl illustration ! I rilly dig caves, your hollowed out underworld is awesome. The honeycombed rock and the grayish blue shading makes this really stand out !
The depth, the light and dark contrast, and the eerie little creatures popping up like gophers really draws me in. I love the story too. I'm wondering what's going to happen!
Wow, what depth you've created with light and shadow! Nice muted color tones accented by red goblins ~ excellent! Åt the center of it all, sorry Faun....this works perfectly for the theme!
A beautiful image - you've made the depth and the shadows very fine. It's this sort of cave, I could imagine, there was in Lord of Rings - it's just telling a story, great drawing!
I can't say I blame Faun for being sorry...he's in tight spot! This drawing is so very cool...excellent rendering of values...the cave looks so deep and dark and the outside is glowing wioth light. Wonderful, wonderful work!
Thanks for all the kind comments Tolkien has always been a great source of inspiration, although having seen the LOTR films i don't think Alan Lee and John Howe will ever be surpassed, they did such fantastic drawings...i've given up trying to illustrate any more Tolkien :/ As for Faun... well I've got tons more illos and stories lined up for him so he'll just have to get out of there somehow!!
